From the moment you set foot inside one of our rooms at Madrugada, you will notice there are no phones in the rooms - no televisions, no email, no computers. You see, we believe that you simply don't need any of those things when you're on vacation. After all, how are you supposed to relax when you're going through your business email or cursing under your breath at yet another one of Aunt Jane's forwards (why did you ever give her your email address anyways)?!

Hotel Madrugada is all about rest and relaxation. It's about putting the modern world behind you and truly experiencing Honduras and its people. Enjoy the view, claim your hammock, and pick up that book you've been meaning to read for the past year or so. After your stay at Madrugada, you will wonder why you haven't left all those gadgets behind on the rest of your trips - but don't be too hard on yourself okay?

And to make things even nicer, we have made Madrugada truly affordable. You see, we don't have to worry about all the overhead costs of other hotels. See for yourself:

Our rooms are comfortable and welcoming. Each has its own private bathroom, comfortable bed(s) with clean sheets, a ceiling fan (in case the temperate mountainous air is still not enough), and above all, the sounds of the small brook to lull you to sleep. Need something to drink? Just walk over to our main dining hall and grab what you need - all we ask is that you write it down on the pad of paper and it will be added to your bill when you leave.

And while you're here, you might just run into some interesting folks. For years the folks at National Geographic have been staying with us, along with archaeology students from various universities all over the world. They're always friendly and we love having them.
